    Career Women’s Initiative LLC (“CWI”) is committed to protecting any personal information you provide in connection with your use of this website (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy (also the “Policy”) describes what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we collect it, how we use it and the steps we take to protect it.

    By using this Site, you consent to the collection and use of personal information as outlined in this Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Site. Your use of our Site and any of our services indicates your acceptance of such Policy and of the collection and use of your personal information in accordance therewith. 

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and when we do, we will post the modified policy. We may also provide additional notice for more significant changes to the Privacy Policy.     Information Gathered through the Site; Becoming a member or subscriber; and registering for events

    CWI does not collect personally identifiable information through the Site unless you provide that information during registration for various features on the Site (such features include, but are not limited to, Site registration, newsletters, subscriber or member registration, online directory, registration for events, teleclasses and workshops, and use of discussion forums). CWI will only use your personal information for the purposes for which you provide it. Information required to participate in such features may vary but will typically include your first and last name; address including city, state, zip code, email address, industry and company information; and, in the case of making purchases, a credit card number and expiration date. You may also be requested to provide a username and password for certain features. The personal information submitted by you is maintained in secured servers behind corporate firewalls through the service who manages and runs our membership database, MemberClicks, an online service provider that provides membership database and e-commerce infrastructure and hosts CWI’s online directory, discussion boards and registrations, among other things (see www.memberclicks.com/security/ for detail regarding MemberClicks’ detailed security procedures and safeguards). 

    CWI may track and record certain nonpersonal information of Site users, including IP address, operating system, type of browser, referring URL, and time spent on the Site in order to gain aggregate data that may be analyzed for trends and statistics on how our visitors use the Site. CWI may use accumulated aggregate non-personal data for several purposes including, but not limited to, Site traffic analysis, evaluation of CWI's services, and program planning. CWI may also market anonymous, non-identifiable user data that has been collected and processed into aggregate and anonymous statistical profiles to third parties. CWI may use a third-party website analytics provider to track and record nonpersonal information of Site users and provide reports based on such information to CWI. Such providers may use that nonpersonal information for their internal purposes.

    A registered user may change or update his or her personal information at any time by visiting the registration area.

    CWI may solicit your opinion on a variety of issues via survey, polls or other requests. These solicitations of input are always optional to the user and your decision not to participate in a survey will not affect your status as a CWI registered user. Should you choose to participate, any information you give us may be used in aggregate form for marketing purposes, to enhance your overall experience on our Site and for other authorized purposes.

    We may also share your personal information with third parties who provide services to us in connection with the Site or disclose it in special circumstances if we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to enforce this Privacy Policy, protect the safety of anyone or that such disclosure is required by law.

    All third parties with whom we share information will have independent privacy and data collection practices, and CWI has no responsibility or liability for their policies or actions. Any information voluntarily disclosed by users and posted on our site (including, but not limited to, our members directory, discussion forums, and/or in chat or email areas) may be viewed and used by others. If users post personal information that is accessible to the public or CWI registered users online, the user does so at his or her own risk. Users accept that they may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.

    If, after registering for any notifications, newsletters or member emails on the Site, you no longer wish to be contacted regarding CWI services or activities that we think may be of interest to you, you may let us know at any time by the following: (i) for members, changing your notification preferences in your online profile; (ii) following the instructions which may be provided within the emails received; (iii) sending an email to info@careerwomensinitiative.com; or (iv) contacting us as described below. 

    correction of inaccuracies in information

    You have the option to correct inaccuracies in your Site membership account or other registration by returning to the registration area and updating your profile and preferences. If a username and password is required to access the feature, you will need to provide such information to update your registration information. If you have forgotten your password, you may obtain it by visiting the registration area and requesting it to be sent to you at the email address you originally provided during registration.

    Links to other sites

    The Site contains links to other websites that are owned or controlled by third parties. Please note that the privacy policies of these sites may differ from those of the Site. CWI is not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of any linked website. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you wish to visit before disclosing any information.

    If CWI becomes aware that the security of the Site is compromised or any nonpublic user information has been disclosed to unrelated third parties as a result of external activity or otherwise not in accordance with this Privacy Policy, CWI will take reasonable measures that it deems appropriate (which may include an internal investigation and reporting, notifying the user, and notifying and cooperating with law enforcement authorities).

    Our servers are located in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States.
